
The air division of Avis Corporación Empresarial and the Sociedad Estatal Correos y Telégrafos have reached an agreement to develop ‘Correos Cargo', a new air transport service for parcels and goods created to strengthen and be a benchmark in the Latin America-Europe-Asia logistics hub, as both companies have announced.
In this ‘joint venture', Correos will take care of customs management of shipments, as well as logistics and commercial solutions for capturing parcel flows, while the organization is run by Iberojet, the Avoris airline. of all the material means to carry out the operation and realization of the flights.
According to Correos, this operation responds to the increase in the parcel business that the company has been receiving in recent years, and which represented an increase in income of 25% in the first half of 2021, reaching 135 million packages sent, 12.6% more than in the same period of 2020.
The parcel company also seeks to boost the Spanish economy by helping the business fabric to take advantage of its strategic location to become a logistics hub between Asia, Europe, Africa, and South America.

Aerojet, the Avoris airline, will allocate two of its Airbus A330s to this operation throughout 2022, adapted for this type of transport, which will wear the Correos livery and will operate under the ‘Correos Cargo' brand.
In the words of the CEO of Avis Corporación Empresarial, Miguel Angel Sánchez, this agreement allows them to have “a highly relevant partner”, such as Correos, and helps them diversify their business and at the same time tackle the modernization of their fleet.
